Susan's Philosophy:

I believe that every person is inherently healthy, and in my practice I focus on helping people build their individual strengths. We also must understand how the environment we live in impacts individuals, and I work within the community to best support the people and families I work with.

Susan Denison, MSW, LCSW

By facilitating the co-creative process that is the therapeutic relationship, I work to develop successful communication and a therapeutic program tailored to your individual needs and desires.

Experience:

Susan has training in a variety of conventional and complementary healing modalities, such as DBT, brainspotting, somatic experiencing, and others. Combining these modalities with traditional psychotherapy allows Susan to offer a holistic approach to mental health care for the individuals and families she serves.

Since 1990, Susan's professional experience has included working with individuals, groups, and families. Susan has since become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and has earned a variety of certifications in other treatment modalities. Susan also believes in continuing her education, and is constantly evolving and developing her skills through a variety of workshops and trainings.

In addition to her private practice, she has primarily worked in public and mental health settings. Susan is currently a member of the Boulder Psychological Services (BPS) group, which offers a wide range of mental health services throughout the community.

BPS offers ongoing free presentations at the Meadows Library in Boulder and can be seen on BVSD's Channel 22 during the school year.
